Moles Greeting Rid Of Them

LONGALAGO 2009 - Stage 2 -

July 12, 2009: VIRA GAMBAROGNO - Zenna - 8 km, 32

We expect a very long stage, I thought a priori was of 7 km and a half, and instead, checking, has proved to be even longer. In fact, when I usually Last but not least, arrival at the border I swam for three hours and half-spun and checked the distance is 8.3 miles!

Today with Diego and Paul from Cannock with us the extraordinary Paul Chiarino on Thursday will begin his incredible adventure of all Lake Maggiore 60 km continuously without changes and without fins.

This step is a workout for him and while I was swimming I kept thinking how he manages to continue for a time and a distance eight times as long as this stage is the longest of all those we've come.

During the day the water in some points becomes cold, sometimes it is also very dull and makes some observations difficult.

However at the end of the day I can tell that he saw a lot of fish, four pike in a very large, two water snakes hunting in the rocks of the fund, four big tench near the branches of a tree sunk, many chub also huge, different schools of Piotte beautiful, and then at some point I think I glimpsed at the bottom of the white bodies of some fish called shad that I was a child and I have not seen for decades.

The coast is also quite taken with preserved wild trees up in water, which sometimes gets caught in the balloon creandomi an instinctive fear as the shadow cast on the water that the trees creates a different atmosphere of a sudden and mysterious.

some countries runs along the pier with all the boats but I do not see a single boat throughout the day, as well as the many boats that are moored to the buoys are all switched off because the sun is very pale, and then you see that people have not no desire to go to the lake.

What's the difference with those who love the lake like me and loves it with every time, which makes wind, rain, threatening storm.

Among the other along the coast meeting quite frequently small group of aquatic plants of two or three different varieties, particularly Ceratophyllum and at one point rising from the bottom of a huge specimen of Myriophyllum , 6 m high probably in search of light.

Today we are accompanied not only by Antonio Threats and Guido Wyss on the boat Canoe Locarno, the boat Rescue Team led by Mr. Vira Mueller.

The arrival of this stage that seemed to never end is already in the Italian territory, just across the border.

We're going back home, we're excited because the goal of ending all swim around the lake is now at hand and we are very proud of a company that has cost us a very strong determination and a good bit 'of work organization.

As we are telling everyone the project has already begun PALMA (Aquatic Plants of Lake Maggiore) retrace our intention that all the shores of the lake with the help of volunteer sportsmen and lovers of Lake Maggiore.

In September we wait very long until the penultimate stage in Macclesfield, but that conterremo AC. 7 miles and then the last final stage triumph, much shorter than 5.5 km, up to Luino and hope to involve as many swimmers as possible to give a token of vision especially for the PALMA project.
